The Opening of the Kennedy Center’s The REACH
As many of you know, The Kennedy Center has felt like a second home to me after premiering Little Dancer there in 2014. I always look forward to every visit because of so many wonderful memories. This trip was once again another amazing venture. I was thrilled to be involved in the opening of their new facility The REACH, which is especially designed so the public is more involved in artistic processes.
On the opening day I taught two master classes. I love sharing the knowledge I have acquired on dance with the next generation. I know how vital my teachers were in my career and I hope that I can help inspire some budding dancers of the future. As part of the opening festivities, I also was a part of National Dance Day, where I shared my Charlotte OC music video with the public and then taught them the first section of the dance. It was so moving to see everyone standing up in the audience participating; I love when dance is used to move individuals. The day then continued with a screening of my Hulu feature documentary Ballet Now, in which I participated in a Q&A afterwards and signed Body Wrappers Tiler Peck Designs® posters!
It was a treat for me to be among such a talented roster of artists during the opening festivities to celebrate the Kennedy Center and its love and my love for the art-form of Dance!!!!
